If you want the ABSOLUTE BEST in vintage timepieces, with no
compromise service, look no further.
In 1875 Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old Czech immigrant, opened a small jewelry shop on Maiden Lane in New York City.
By 1912 Bulova had set up its first plant dedicated
to the production of watch components and their assembly into jeweled
movements in Bienne, Switzerland. In 1923 the name
Bulova Watch Company, Inc. was adopted. Bulova perfected a new concept in the
watch industry of total standardization of parts. Every part of a Bulova watch
was made with such precision (standardized to the ten thousandth of an inch)
that it was interchangeable with the same part in any other Bulova watch. This
revolutionized the servicing of watches in the industry. The Bulova Watch Company went public on the American Stock
Exchange in 1927.
This is an
excellent example of a very rare Vintage Bulova Corrigan timepiece.
It features a
10K Gold Plated case with intricate stepped deco styling and a beautiful dial. This watch
was made in the late 1930's. It is three times signed and measures
38mm end to end
and 27mm wide, including the gold crown. The 10K Gold Plated case is in excellent
condition with beautiful stepped lines. The movement is a 17 jewels USA made Bulova 10AE which sets
and winds smoothly and is
running well and keeping excellent time. The dial is stunning,
featuring a white face with gold numerals that
compliment the beautiful period hands. The crystal is in excellent condition. The back of the case
is also in very good condition with a small bit of wear and is marked B-10K ROLLED GOLD PLATE. It is marked on the
inside BULOVA FIFTH AVE NEW YORK. Comes fitted with a
brand new 16mm leather strap. This watch
is very hard to find in this condition and will make an excellent addition to any collection.
This is a beautiful example of a very rare 10K Gold Plated Vintage Bulova Corrigan watch that is
over 70 years old.
