Looking for that special vintage timepiece that will have all your friends asking "where did you get that?", then this is the watch for you! These get tougher to find every day, especially in this fine condition. This watch has been serviced by a master watchmaker and comes with a new leather strap. This watch is READY TO GO.  If you want the ABSOLUTE BEST in vintage timepieces, with no compromise service, look no further.

The Elgin Watch Company, also known as National Watch Company was in business for 100 years, from 1864 to 1964.  They were one of the largest companies in terms of total production.  Some of the original founders came from The Waltham Watch Company.  The idea for a large watch company was discussed by J.C. Adams, P.S. Bartlett, and Blake. After a trip to Waltham, Adams went to Chicago and approached Benjamin W. Raymond, a former mayor of Chicago, to put up the financing to get the company started.  The National Watch Company (Elgin) was formed in August, 1864.  The factory in Elgin, Illinois was completed in 1866.

This is an absolutely stunning example of a rare vintage Elgin timepiece.  It features a fantastic case with intricate engraving on the front and sides. This watch was made in the late 1920's.  It measures 39mm end to end and 26mm wide, including the crown.  The case is in excellent condition with very crisp engraving.  The movement is a 15 jewels USA made Elgin which sets and winds smoothly and is running well and keeping excellent time.  The dial is stunning,  featuring a cream colored dial with filled in numerals that compliment the beautiful period hands.  The crystal is in excellent condition.  The back of the case is also in very good condition with a some minor wear on the sides.  Comes fitted with beautiful period bracelet.  I will happily supply a leather starp if requested.  This watch is very hard to find in this condition and will make an excellent addition to any collection.

This is a beautiful example of a rare  Elgin Art Deco T@nk watch that is over 80 years old.
